We place great importance on protecting your personal data. This page explains what data we process, why, and what your rights are.

1. Data controller

As a Japanese company offering its services to individuals located in the European Union, we process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as the Japanese Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).

2. Data we collect

  • Identity and contact data: last name, first name, email address.
  • Order data: plan purchased, amount, date, order number, history.
  • Payment data: processed directly by our provider Stripe. We do not store your full card number.
  • eSIM technical data: eSIM identifier (ICCID), activation status and consumption, necessary to provide the service.
  • Account and program data: points balance, referees (referral), and for influencer/agency accounts: commissions and payout details provided voluntarily (PayPal email, IBAN/BIC or Japanese bank details).
  • Browsing data: via our audience-measurement tools, only after your consent (see the Cookies section).
  • Support exchanges: the content of the messages you send us.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Provide the eSIM, manage your account and order — Performance of the contract

  • Customer support, security and fraud prevention — Legitimate interest
  • Referral and affiliate programs, commission payouts — Performance of the contract / consent
  • Audience measurement, prospecting and referral emails — Consent

4. Recipients and processors

Your data may be shared, strictly as necessary, with the following providers:
  • Stripe — secure payment processing (PCI-DSS certified).
  • IIJ (Internet Initiative Japan) — network operator handling the activation and connectivity of the eSIM in Japan.
  • OVH (OVHcloud) — website hosting, in France.
  • Google Analytics and Datafast (datafa.st) — audience measurement, subject to your consent.
  • Our email-sending provider (order confirmations, QR code, support).
We never sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Transfers outside the European Union

Our processing involves a transfer of data to Japan (the company's head office). Japan is the subject of an adequacy decision by the European Commission, guaranteeing a level of protection equivalent to that of the EU. Other providers may be located outside the EU (for example in the United States); such transfers are then governed by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

6. Retention periods

  • Account data: for the entire life of the account, then deletion or anonymization.
  • Billing data: 10 years, in accordance with accounting obligations.
  • Prospecting data: 3 years from the last contact.
  • Audience-measurement cookies: 13 months maximum.

7. Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can exercise these rights by writing to support@mobile-companion.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the CNIL (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés) in France.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for the operation of the site (no consent required) and, subject to your consent, audience-measurement cookies (Google Analytics and Datafast) intended to understand the use of the site and improve it. You can accept or refuse these cookies via the consent banner, and change your choice at any time. Refusing audience-measurement cookies does not affect access to the service.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encryption of exchanges (SSL/TLS protocol), payment processing by a PCI-DSS certified provider, and restricted access to data.
