Terms and Conditions of Use and Sale

These terms govern the use of the mobile-companion.com website and the purchase of our eSIM plans. By placing an order, you accept them without reservation.

1. Purpose and publisher

These General Terms and Conditions of Use and Sale (the "Terms") govern the provision of the website and the sale of data plans in the form of eSIMs by:

2. Service description

Companion Mobile provides a Japanese eSIM (digital SIM card) giving access to a data-only plan on the 4G/LTE network of the Japanese operator IIJ, with a native Japanese IP address. The service includes neither calls nor SMS. Ensuring your device is compatible is your responsibility; a checker is available on the plans page.

3. Customer account

Some features require creating an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials confidential. Special accounts (influencer, travel agency) are subject to an application and to our approval.

4. Ordering and pricing

Plans range from 1 GB to 50 GB, starting at €0.98. Prices are shown in euros. Payment is made online via our secure provider Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay). The order is confirmed by an email containing your installation QR code.

5. Delivery and installation

The installation QR code is delivered by email immediately after payment is validated. You can install the eSIM before departure; it will activate on your arrival in Japan.

6. Activation and validity

The plan's validity period (7 or 30 days depending on the offer) starts at the first connection to the Japanese network, not at the time of purchase. If your data runs out before the end of the validity period, an additional plan can be purchased at any time; it is added to the existing eSIM.

7. Withdrawal and refund

The eSIM constitutes digital content / a digital service. You acknowledge and accept that performance of the service begins as soon as the eSIM is installed on your device.

30-day satisfied-or-refunded guarantee

A full refund is possible within 30 days of purchase only if the eSIM has not been installed (QR code not scanned and eSIM not added to a device).

No refund once the eSIM has been installed

Scanning the QR code and adding the eSIM to a device mark the start of performance of the service and entail the waiver of any refund request, whether the eSIM was activated or not, and whether the data was used or not.

For any eligible refund request, contact us at support@mobile-companion.com quoting your order number.

8. Referral, affiliate and agency programs

The referral program lets you accumulate points usable to purchase eSIMs. The influencer and agency programs, available on request and approval, grant commissions and dedicated features. Commissions, thresholds, withdrawals and terms are specified in the relevant areas. We reserve the right to suspend or cancel any benefit in the event of abuse, fraud or non-compliance with these Terms.

9. User obligations

Use the service and the site lawfully and in accordance with these Terms.
Do not resell eSIMs without being expressly authorized (reseller/agency accounts).
Do not attempt to defraud the referral or affiliate programs.
Check the compatibility and unlocked status of your device before purchase.

10. Liability

We provide the service with the utmost care. Coverage and speeds nonetheless depend on the IIJ operator's network and may vary by location and congestion; this is an obligation of means. We cannot be held liable in the event of device incompatibility, misuse, or temporary unavailability beyond our control. Nothing in these Terms excludes our liability where the law prohibits it.

11. Intellectual property

12. Personal data

The processing of your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Japanese law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the Tokyo courts (Japan). The mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the user's country of residence, where they cannot be waived by contract, remain applicable.

14. Amendment of the Terms
